Microsoft is reportedly pulling back internal Claude Code usage and pushing many engineers toward GitHub Copilot CLI instead.
The story comes from The Verge’s Tom Warren, who reported on May 14, 2026 that Microsoft’s Experiences and Devices division is winding down most Claude Code licenses by the end of June.
